8th – 13th
May 2017
In
the bright day, I was ready to go to a beautiful city, Bali. At 02.00 pm all
students of English Department gathered in Widya Kartika University. The
students who would go to Bali are from the second, the fourth and the sixth semester.
We were accompanied by our two lecturers, Mr. Tri and Mr. Yohanes.
We
left the campus at 03.30 pm by Bus and arrived in Bali at 08.00 am.
The first destination was Tanjung Benoa. Tanjung Benoa is a beach that becomes
one of favorite tourism spots either for domestic tourists or international tourists. The beach has white
sand and very calm sea and it
make the beach is perfect for water sports activities, such as Parasailing, Snorkeling,
Seawalker Tanjung Benoa and many others. Some of the activities I did there
just played beach water, took pictures, and look for clams. The next destination was Water Blow in Nusa Dua Peninsula Island. Water Blow itself
happens when big waves hit the rock cliffs and create a huge water bursts and make
the waves very high. Big waves that can pass through the cliffs and often will
wet the visitors who come. After satisfied to see the scenery in the Water Blow,
we returned to the bus and got ready for the Aroma’s Hotel to rest.
The second day in Bali, there are three tourism spots
that had to be visited. First was Tirta Empul, in the area we saw much clear
and large water fountains. This place is used by Balinese people to melukat or
bathe in order to cleanse themselves from evil spirits in the body, the way to
bathe must follow the rules by starting from the first fountain and forwarded
with the next fountain until the last fountain. Behind the fountains is a
sacred area of the Tirta Empul temple to the society pray. Second was Bali
Classic Center (BCC), which is a place of Balinese people art and culture. We
saw a variety of Balinese dances such as Mask dance and Barong dance. Besides,
we also saw a display to show daily life of Balinese people such as making
offerings, playing gamelan, pounding rice and making palm oil Bali.

Third
was
Bajra Sandhi, it is a Balinese People Struggle Monument in expelling the
invaders. On the second floor of Bajra Sandhi, I saw 33 diaromas that
depict
Bali Island since the prehistoric, the kingdom, the war and the
post-independence time. Explanation of the diaroma using three languages
namely
Indonesian, English and Balinese language. Around 4 pm,
we went back to the hotel.
In the third day, we
continued our traveling to some famous spots that is Dewata Store, Taman Nusa
and Sukawati Market. Dewata
Store is one of the souvenir centers in Bali. The store sells a lot of food,
such as milk pie, dodol, beans, and so on. They also provide a special room to
produce milk pie that can be viewed from the outside by the buyer. In addition,
it also sells various handicrafts and clothes. From Dewata Store, we went to Taman
Nusa Bali. It is a cultural tourism park which has 60 traditional
houses from various regions in Indonesia. It was very nice to be one of Taman
Nusa visitors, because I could add my knowledge about Indonesia’s history and culture
and I am proud of being Indonesia society. The last destination was Sukawati
Market, that is
very famous for selling clothes and Balinese traditional craft with a very
cheap price. After finished shopping, we went back to the hotel.
The fourth day was
the last day in Bali, I and my
roommate had finished packing up all the stuff and ready to take back home. Before leaving the hotel, as usual we had breakfast first to fill
our energy. After all the students gathered in the bus, then we started our
traveling to Krisna. It is same as Dewata Store which sells typical souvenir
Bali. Next to Pandawa Beach, the water at Pandawa Beach is an exotic
combination of blue and green.

When I saw the beach, I wanted to play the water
but the weather was so hot, so my intention was canceled. Tanah Lot Temple was
the last destination of our traveling. The temple is built on the rock with 3-acre
size and reachable in a few minutes by walk, because it is just 20 meters from
the coastal lip. Furthermore, this temple is very famous among tourist
destinations in Bali with spectacular view of sunset. I did not go into
the temple, but just enjoyed the beach and the sunset view while taking a
little picture. And I did not forget to meet a foreigner from United States to
get some information about her. The sun had disappeared, we moved away from the
location and back into the bus. Around 7 pm, we departed to Surabaya. We arrived
at Widya Kartika University the next morning at 8 am safely.
